With Jordan Love expected back on the active roster soon and room needed on the practice squad, the Green Bay Packers released quarterback Danny Etling on Monday.
Etling was signed to the practice squad last Tuesday after the Packers elevated quarterback Kurt Benkert to the active roster as a COVID-19 replacement for Love. Etling’s stay in Green Bay lasted all of six days.
Benkert will revert back to the practice squad on Tuesday.
With Love out, Benkert was the backup behind Aaron Rodgers on Sunday night against the Chicago Bears and kneeled down twice to end the game.
