Two players on the roster bubble connected for a touchdown that gave the Green Bay Packers a short-lived first-half lead over the New York Jets on Saturday at Lambeau Field.
Third-string quarterback Kurt Benkert found third-year tight end Jace Sternberger in the corner of the end zone for a 5-yard touchdown with 3:27 left in the first half. The score put the Packers up 14-10, although the Jets immediately responded with a quick scoring drive following a long kickoff return.
The Packers’ marathon scoring drive went 81 yards over 19 plays and took 10:19 off the clock.
