Packers predicted to sign Chargers 'strong coverage corner' in free agency

The Green Bay Packers were aggressive in free agency last year to address their biggest needs. They could take a similar approach this offseason after their early exit from the playoffs.

The Packers' secondary could be a focal point for general manager Brian Gutekunst this offseason. Jaire Alexander has dealt with injuries, has a $25 million cap hit and could be a cap casualty. While making predictions for the Packers' offseason, FanSided's Brian Sampson predicted the team would sign Los Angeles Chargers cornerback Asante Sameul Jr.

"Samuel checks several boxes for Green Bay. At just 25 years old, he fits the profile of a player whose best football is likely still ahead of him," wrote Sampson.
