After being unable to reach a resolution to his future in Green Bay, the Packers plan to release two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander on Monday., a source told ESPN.
The sides had attempted to come to a revised contract but couldn't reach a deal, the source said, leading to the Packers' decision to move on from Alexander before minicamp.
Both Alexander and the Packers had expressed frustration over his past two seasons, during which he missed games because of injuries and a suspension.
Alexander, a 2018 first-round pick, had two years remaining on the four-year, $84 million contract extension that made him the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL at the time.
