The Green Bay Packers recognized nurse and Oneida Nation member Pearl Webster with a nomination for the NFL’s Inspire Change Changemaker Award. The award is given to individuals “making a difference in their community with their social justice work, either individually or as part of a non-profit”.
One of Webster’s biggest efforts for the Green Bay community was transforming a former accounting building into Safe Shelter, which provides temporary housing and resources such as mentoring programs for local individuals and families in crisis. A focus of her life has been her dedication to helping others, especially Oneida people.
