T.J. Watt’s one-month reign as the highest-paid non-quarterback has officially come to an end — as the Green Bay Packers just broke the bank on Micah Parsons following the blockbuster trade with the Dallas Cowboys.
On Thursday, it was announced that the Packers were trading two first-round picks and DT Kenny Clark to the Cowboys in exchange for Parsons, with Green Bay also signing him to a four-year, $188 million extension — an average of $47 million per year versus Watt’s $41 million.
The deal completely shattered the edge rusher market, resetting everything we once knew about the value of these talented pass rushers — leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers looking like geniuses for extending Watt a month earlier.
