Packers may have quietly struck gold with a CB gamble no one believed in

When Bo Melton was signed off the Seattle Seahawks practice squad in December 2022, Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur toyed with the idea of moving him from wide receiver to cornerback, but never pulled the trigger.

Not until this offseason, that is.

With the Packers breaking a 23-year drought of taking a wideout in the opening round of the NFL draft by selecting Texas standout Matthew Golden with the 23rd overall pick and then adding TCU's Savion Williams in the third round at No. 87 overall, Melton took a bit of a tumble down the depth chart.
