Packers may have just pulled off another Malik Willis-style heist before cutdown day

Almost exactly one year ago, the Green Bay Packers recognized the need to find a backup quarterback and surprisingly traded for Malik Willis.

It was a stroke of genius for general manager Brian Gutekunst, as the Packers needed Willis to start as early as Week 2 after Jordan Love suffered a sprained MCL. Willis went 2-0 in games he started before coming off the bench to save the Packers against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Trading a seventh-rounder for Willis became arguably the best trade of the season. A year on, Gutekunst has made another smart last-minute move to address an area of need by trading for offensive lineman Darian Kinnard.
