Packers make first roster cut, announce trade with Eagles for OL Darian Kinnard

The Green Bay Packers announced a pre-roster cutdown trade and released a wide receiver in a corresponding roster move. On Monday, the team officially acquired offensive lineman Darian Kinnard from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a 2027 sixth-round draft pick. To make room on the roster for Kinnard, the Packers released wide receiver Kawaan Baker -- the first of many roster cuts to come in the next 24 hours.

NFL teams must trim rosters to 53 players by Tuesday's 3:00 p.m. CT deadline. While the Packers could have waited until after cutdowns to add an offensive lineman, general manager Brian Gutekunst proactively acquired Kinnard, a 2022 fifth-round pick who has spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles during his first three NFL seasons.
