Packers Make Final Decision on $84 Million Cornerback After 7 Years in Green Bay

The Green Bay Packers are set to say goodbye to a player who has been a fixture of their secondary since he came into the league seven years ago.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported on June 9 that the team was set to release cornerback Jaire Alexander after the two sides were unable to reach an agreement on a new deal. The veteran defensive back had been one of the team's best defensive players through much of his tenure, but was hit by injuries in recent years.

Alexander was limited to seven games in the 2023 season as he dealt with back and shoulder injuries, and he played seven games again last season due to a knee injury.
