Packers Make Brian Gutekunst the Team's Next General Manager

The Green Bay Packers have their next general manager to succeed Ted Thompson, and it'll once again be through the Ron Wolf tree.

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reported that the Packers' director of player personnel, Brian Gutekunst, was set to interview with the Houston Texans for their vacant GM job, however, never did.

McClain said that Gutekunst, 44, arrived in Houston, but had already accepted a job to become the Packers' next GM.

Gutekunst, at times, seemed like the least worthy candidate for the job with the sudden uprise in commendation for the Packers' Vice President of Football Administration and Player Finance, Russ Ball.
