Packers elevate quarterback Sean Clifford for Sunday's game at Titans, Jordan Love's status still unclear

NASHVILLE, Tennessee − A day before determining Jordan Love’s status in Tennessee, the Green Bay Packers are giving themselves quarterback insurance.

The Packers elevated quarterback Sean Clifford from the practice squad to the active roster for game day. It’s Clifford’s second promotion this season, leaving him one free elevation in 2024.

Clifford was elevated last week to be Malik Willis’ backup when Love was inactive against the Indianapolis Colts. Love practiced all three days this week, including Thursday in pads, after missing practice a week ago. Coach Matt LaFleur said the Packers were “working through” medically clearing Love for Sunday’s game against the Titans, but that the quarterback would have a say in whether he plays, depending on how his injured left knee feels.
