GREEN BAY, Wis. – Micah Hyde’s background as a baseball player – and as a former quarterback – came in handy in Sunday’s regular-season finale against the Minnesota Vikings.
First, the Green Bay Packers defensive back said he wasn’t completely surprised that the right-handed Teddy Bridgewater tried the left-handed pass with outside linebacker Mike Neal draped all over him on a third-quarter play.
“I think when I was a quarterback back in high school, I was getting sacked just like that, I threw the ball left-handed,” Hyde said Monday.
At that point, his baseball skills took over.
