Packers claim former third-round cornerback

On Monday, the Green Bay Packers claimed cornerback David Long, who was recently let go by the Carolina Panthers. The team did not need to make a corresponding roster move on their active roster, as they had an open roster spot available.

Long is a former First-Team All-Big Ten cornerback for the Michigan Wolverines who was drafted in the third round by the Los Angeles Rams back in 2019. Notably, Packers defensive coordinator Joe Barry was the associate head coach and linebackers coach with the Rams during Long’s first two seasons in the league.
