During the process of going down to a 53-man roster, the Green Bay Packers waived linebacker Ralen Goforth and cornerback L.J. Davis with injury designations, which makes them the only players who the Packers cut who would be unable to sign with Green Bay’s practice squad, per league rules. Otherwise, the floodgates have opened for the Packers’ 16-man unit.
As a reminder, teams can sign up to six players who have recorded two or more years of NFL experience under the league’s current practice squad rules. Aside from that, there are relatively no restrictions on which players the Packers can bring back from their summer roster or pluck from other clubs.
