Green Bay — Life is pretty good these days for Datone Jones.
He got engaged to his college sweetheart, Lauren, last off-season. Then, a short while later the two got married. And finally, he and Lauren became parents, welcoming daughter Laila Shea into the world Oct. 15.
The 25-year-old Jones has been able to raise a family with the financial resources, nurturing environment and sense of safety that are hard to come by where he grew up, in one of the roughest areas of South Central Los Angeles.
And, oh yeah, he's playing pretty good football, too.
