I’ve had ESPN on all day and still haven’t heard one person say the bullshit roughing the passer call on Clay Matthews was the correct call.
The idiot who made it, Tony Corrente, defended it by saying that Matthews picked up Kirk Cousins and drove him into the ground. Clearly, that was not the case. Matthews braced himself with his left hand as he went to the ground. What actually happened was Matthews wrapped Cousins up with one hand around his waist and the other around his leg, initially.
At any rate, the play negated an interception by Jaire Alexander that would have won the Packers the game.
