Green Bay — Mr. West Coast Offense channeled his inner Woody Hayes on Sunday. Coach Mike McCarthy took over the Packers' play-calling duties and turned loose a contrite and rejuvenated Eddie Lacy on the unsuspecting Dallas Cowboys.
The first four plays of Green Bay's opening series were Lacy right, Lacy left, Lacy right and Lacy right. Even though the drive ended in a punt, the tone was set. On this unseasonably warm, rainy afternoon at Lambeau Field, the Packers were going to be trading bubble screens for snot bubbles.
Forty-four rushes and 230 yards later — Green Bay's highest total in a regular-season game in 11 years — the Cowboys had been bludgeoned to the tune of 28-7.
