Lofton, Anderson were talented co-picks in 1978 Packers draft

The first time the Green Bay Packers had multiple picks in the first round of a National Football League Draft was in 1954, when they chose center Art Hunter from Notre Dame and halfback Veryl Switzer of Kansas State with the third and fourth-overall selections, respectively.

They chose poorly.

Unfortunately, the duo did not have the impact or return on investment rookie head coach Lisle Blackbourn had hoped for. Hunter played in 12 regular-season games in just one season and was done, while Switzer played in 24 regular-season contests in two seasons in Green Bay.

In the past five decades the Packers have fared better.
