The Green Bay Packers offense has struggled in 2023 and there are many reasons for the lack of production. One important issue has been the lack of progress from the team’s young wide receivers.
GM Brian Gutekunst took a gamble this offseason when he moved on from Aaron Rodgers to Jordan Love. Because of the poorly structured deal the team signed with Rodgers in 2022, the resulting dead cap hit limited the team’s options for building a roster this season.
So, Gutekunst made sure the team was younger and less expensive. The tradeoff was they would be more athletic and faster.
