Joseph's Judgement: Williams' Hire Confirms LaFleur Has "No Pull"

Packers likely hit the Easy Button when it came to filling the DB Coach Vacancy

The Case: Just yesterday, the Packers announced the hiring of Greg Williams as their new CBs Coach, replacing the departed Jerry Gray who served as DBs/Passing Game Coordinator. Williams most recently coached with the Cardinals in the same position from the 2019 to 2022 seasons. Williams remains somewhat of an obscure name in the coaching game but still boasts more than a decent resume having coached in the NFL for 13 seasons thus far. Having never been more than position coach, it's hard to really assign Williams to any football lineage, but if I had to he would fall under the Rivera/Pagano Coaching Tree, which is still really just spreading its roots into the NFL coaching grounds.
