The Jets’ search for a veteran quarterback just got a whole lot more complicated.
Derek Carr is on the verge of signing with the Saints, according to NFL Network, taking arguably the best free-agent quarterback off the market a week before the start of free agency.
Carr was released by the Raiders last month, so unlike other pending free agents he was allowed to meet and sign with teams at any point. The Jets met with Carr twice, including last week at the NFL Combine, and raved about the possibility of teaming up with the four-time Pro Bowler.
