Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jake Kumerow made another big statement in his quest for a roster spot on Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he may have suffered a setback as well.
Midway through the third quarter, Kumerow ran a quick out route and caught a perfectly-thrown pass from DeShone Kizer. Turning up field and shedding his would-be tackler, Kumerow ran up the sidelines and evaded safety Nat Berhe, who took an awful angle to try to push Kumerow toward the sideline. Instead, Kumerow cut back up field and outran the Steelers’ secondary to the end zone, diving over the goal line for an 82-yard touchdown that put the Packers up 48-22.
