How Packers Offense Can Replace Davante Adams on Third Down

One needn’t have watched a lot of the Packers offense to realize the connection Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams formed over their eight years together. The countless back shoulder throws and freelanced routes showed a chemistry that only thousands of hours of preparation can produce. And the numbers certainly speak for themselves. But for a QB/WR tandem, nothing shows more trust than third downs.
Rodgers repeatedly counted on his best playmaker on third down. Adams had 23 catches on third down resulting in conversions – good for 5th in the NFL. His releases off the line and ability to win quickly made him an easy safety net.
