Green Bay — Mike Shanahan was direct and remarkably complimentary.
"The defensive line we played against is probably the best in the NFL," the coach of the Washington Redskins said in mid-October 2010. "If they're not, I don't want to play the team that has better personnel than they do."
Shanahan was talking about the Green Bay Packers, the team his Redskins had defeated in overtime, 16-13, at FedEx Field.
Praise of that magnitude hadn't been showered on the Packers' front for years before that and probably hasn't been since. But five sacks, five knockdowns and eight hurries of Donovan McNabb, together with a rushing allowance of 51 yards, represented a job very, very well done.
