(LEARFIELD) – The Green Bay Packers used their first-round draft pick and 23rd overall pick in yesterday’s NFL draft to select a wide receiver.
Packers GM Brian Gutekunst said that Matthew Golden who played for the Univesity of Texas Longhorns learned a couple of systems at the collegiate level and that’s a good thing.
Gutekunst said that they had a couple chances to trade back.
Gutekunst said that Golden should work out just fine.
Golden said that going to the Packers, who haven’t picked a WR in the first round since 2002 is exciting.
He said that it was awesome to be on that stage in Green Bay.
