GREEN BAY – Statement sent.
If the Green Bay Packers wanted to show 2025 would be different after finishing 1-5 in the NFC North last season, they couldn’t have been more emphatic. The Packers beat their division rival Detroit Lions 27-13 in their first season opener at Lambeau Field since 2018, dominating on both sides of the line of scrimmage.
The Packers hadn’t beaten the Lions on their home field since 2021, losing three straight. It was a startling drought for a team that had won 24 straight games against the Lions from 1992 to 2014.
