GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - The Green Bay Packers are preparing for the imminent retirement of president/CEO Mark Murphy.

Murphy is required to retire in July 2025 when he turns 70. Wednesday, the Packers announced the search for his successor.

The Packers have organized a search committee and hired the national search firm, Korn Ferry, which recommended Murphy to succeed Bob Harlan in 2007. Murphy formally took over the job in January 2008.

Officers and members of the search committee are:

  • Marcia Anderson, executive committee
  • Dan Ariens, executive committee secretary and chair of the personnel and compensation committee, who will serve as search committee vice chair
  • Michael Barber, Packers Foundation chair
  • Mike Daniels, board member at-large
  • Robyn Davis, board member at-large
  • Susan Finco, Packers executive committee vice president and lead director, who will serve as search committee chair
  • Eddie Garcia, former player and board member at-large
  • Jeff Joerres, investment committee chair
  • DJ Long, executive committee, personnel and compensation committee
  • Karl Schmidt, executive committee
  • Mike Simmer, treasurer and executive committee

The committee expects to take 6 to 9 months to whittle down potential candidates before making a recommendation to the board of directors.
