Coming into this week a lot of the talk on defense had been about the edge rushers and safeties. The edge rushers weren’t getting home with any level of consistency and the safety play had, at times, been borderline terrible. In the previous three games the edge rushers graded out at a combined score of -11.65. The only positive grades all year were a Kyler Fackrell +0.1 in week three and Reggie Gilbert with a +0.05 in week one.
The safeties meanwhile graded out as a total score of -5.40 with positive grades for Jermaine Whitehead in weeks one and two, and a positive grade for Kentrell Brice in week one.
