It was all but a sure thing, but now it’s official. Safety Kentrell Brice will not be returning to the Green Bay Packers for the 2019 season.
Brice, who spent the past three years in Green Bay after signing as an undrafted rookie out of Louisiana Tech, is headed to Florida. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced that they signed Brice to a one-year contract on Monday afternoon.
With an expiring contract and three years of NFL experience under his belt, Brice was eligible for restricted free agency this offseason. However, the Packers elected not to offer him a tender to retain his rights as an RFA, which made him a street free agent and fully unrestricted when the new league year began last Wednesday.
