Former Ironmen and Weir Grad Played in Super Bowl I

The Super Bowl is the one most celebrated sporting events. With viewership reaching over 100 million on some occasions, the annual event will kick off again Sunday when the Kansas City Chiefs look to repeat as they take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl 55.

And while the majority of America will have their eyes glued to the television, every annual event has a beginning. It just so happens the first Super Bowl had Wheeling and local ties to the game.

On Jan. 15, 1967, Super Bowl I kicked off between the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs.
