Former Colorado football wide receiver signs with Green Bay Packets practice squad

Former Colorado wide receiver Will Sheppard signed with the Green Bay Packers' practice squad on Wednesday.

Sheppard, who played one season for the Buffaloes in 2024, initially signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent but failed his physical and eventually ended up signing with the Packers in late July.

After failing to crack the franchise's initial 53-man roster on Tuesday, Sheppard was quickly brought back to the team's practice squad, joining the other receivers in Mecole Hardman and fellow rookie Isaiah Neyor.

Of note, former Colorado defensive lineman BJ Green cracked the Jacksonville Jaguars' 53-man roster despite signing with the organization as an undrafted free agent.
