First Cheesehead made for Brewers game, but it became Packers icon, then Wisconsin's

GREEN BAY – The foam, triangular, yellow Cheesehead hat is synonymous with the Green Bay Packers, so there was little surprise when the Packers in 2023 acquired the company that made it.

The acquisition insured the Packers, the largest customer and distributor of the iconic symbol of the team, and Wisconsin for that matter, would have a constant and ready supply of the hats, as well as the myriad other Cheesehead products — which include items such as Cheesehead bow ties, seat cushions, cozies, hanging dice, top hats and daggers.

Ralph Bruno invented the Cheesehead hat in 1987.
