GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) - While the football world waits for a decision on Aaron Rodgers future, the Packers are reportedly doing their part to retain their star quarterback.
An ESPN report says the Packers have made Rodgers a contract offer that would "alter" the market for quarterbacks. Rodgers has one year remaining on his current deal.
The Packers are hoping to retain the two-time defending MVP and still get under the salary cap for next season. Currently the team is $27 million over the 2022 salary cap, with Rodgers current deal costing the team $46 million against the cap.
