Don’t Read Too Much Into Jordan Love’s Performance at OTAs

With Aaron Rodgers holding out, the focus has turned to second-year quarterback Jordan Love’s performance at mandatory OTAs.

Members of the media speculate that any poor performance by Love gives Rodgers more leverage against the Packers while if Love performs well, the speculation is that it benefits the Packers organization because it shows they can get by without the reigning NFL MVP under center.

All this talk is extremely overblown and premature. Take the Rodgers situation out of the equation and we’re back to the bottom line: you can’t tell a lot about a quarterback from drills that are run without contact or even pads in the early part of June.
