Green Bay’s special teams are nothing special.
That is nothing new.
That’s been the case for a while now. Last year, the Packers were ranked 29th by former Dallas Morning News writer and current Sports Illustrated writer Rick Gosselin, who compiles special teams rankings. Green Bay was ranked 26th in 2019, 32nd in 2018 and 16th in 2017.
That unit has consistently been a glaring problem and gave the Bears life and a halftime lead before the Packers roared back to a 45-30 win on Sunday night.
From blown coverages to penalties to muffed punts, special teams is the area that could keep the Packers from reaching the Super Bowl.
