Now that the trade is over and the NFL Draft is completed, it’s time to look at expectations.
The easy answer is Jordan Love. I mean, he was just signed to a new deal with virtually no pro experience and he is also replacing a future first ballot Hall of Famer that also replaced a first ballot Hall of Famer.
But if you said Love, you’d be wrong.
The correct answer is defensive coordinator Joe Barry. And I’m not just saying that because I wasn’t a huge fan of his for much of last season. Granted, I will never understand why corners were seven yards off a receiver on third-and-3, but I digress.
