Things got bleak for the Packers this past season and there were some people that wanted Matt LaFleur fired.
The fact that the Packers were sitting at 6-8 on Dec.17 after losing at home to the Buccaneers speaks volumes about what kind of a coach and motivator he is. Green Bay’s backs were to the wall and they responded with three straight wins and a trip to the playoffs.
The argument can be made that he hung on to defensive coordinator Joe Barry too long. I was surprised when LaFleur brought Barry back for the 2023 season because there were noticeable chinks in the armor last year.
