Confessions of a Polluted Mindset - Melancholy Me

This is always the most difficult Polluted Mindset to write - when the season is over and there's no "last week's game" to dissect. You're tasked with watching other teams advance in the playoffs (ouch - it hurt to type that) and in this year's case, you're left with a melancholy "what could have been" feeling. The word "melancholy" is defined as a feeling of pensive sadness. While I'm not walking around moping and depressed, oh, if only the Packers had converted their red zone chances and caught those "sure" interceptions like the Lions did last Sunday. Even though the Lions eventually blew it as a result of some 49ers lucky breaks, receiver drops and coaching decisions, if the Packers had taken advantage of their opportunities, we would have had another game to talk about today.
