Cheese Curds, 1/8: Davante Adams finishes just short of 1,000 yards once again

Stats are funny. They matter a lot. They don’t matter at all. They cost players money. They make players money. Stats make the football world go ‘round, even if the only stat that ultimately matters is the score.

Big, round numbers are the best stats, though. There’s something pleasing about 100, 300, 500, or 1,000 of something. And there’s something irritating about coming up just short.

Davante Adams should know that well. He’s come up exactly three yards short of 1,000 twice now. Three times in Packers history, a player has been within three yards of 1,000, and Adams represents two of those unfortunate occasions.
