Change Is Coming to the Packers Running Back Room

Change is coming to the Green Bay Packers roster at running back this offseason. According to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, GM Brian Gutekunst is trying to reduce the cap hit of one of the team’s top running backs while he is willing to let another one hit the free agent market.

This week at the scouting combine, Gutekunst reportedly met with Aaron Jones’ agent to discuss ways the team could restructure the former UTEP star’s contract to reduce his 2024 cap hit to a more acceptable level. Presently, Jones will carry a cap hit of a little more than $17.
