That drought came to a spectacular halt this year, as the Packers spent their top selection on Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden, doing it in front of a raucous home crowd at Lambeau Field, the site of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Any first-round wide receiver is forced to shoulder high expectations coming into the league, but after waiting 20-plus years for a first-rounder at the position, Packers fans are sure to have an even higher bar set for Golden.
