Broncos trade CB Aqib Talib to Los Angeles Rams

The Denver Broncos agreed on Thursday to send cornerback Aqib Talib to the Rams, according to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and James Palmer.

The Rams are expected to send a 2018 fifth-round draft pick to the Broncos for Talib, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

While that may not seem like a lot in return for giving up the five-time Pro Bowler, the Broncos have been attempting to clear up salary cap space to pursue free-agent quarterback Kirk Cousins, and have been searching for a trading partner for Talib over the past month.

The Rams have also acquired cornerback Sam Shields from the Green Bay Packers and cornerback Marcus Peters from the Kansas City Chiefs this offseason.
