Broncos hire Packers OC Nathaniel Hackett, adding speculation to Aaron Rodgers’ future

The Denver Broncos are hiring Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett as their next head coach, according to multiple national reports.

While it’s noteworthy Green Bay needs a new offensive coordinator. This hire adds more speculation concerning the future of quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Hackett, 42, has been the offensive coordinator in Green Bay since 2019. He was the offensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2016 to 2018. Hackett helped lead that team to the AFC title game while getting the best football out of quarterback Blake Bortles. He previously called plays earlier in his NFL career while serving as offensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills from 2013 to 2014.
