Bears release former Packers receiver as roster cuts begin

The Chicago Bears have started trimming their roster to 53 players ahead of Tuesday's deadline.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Bears have released wide receiver Samori Toure. The former Green Bay Packers wideout was a practice squad mainstay last season. Toure signed a reserve/future deal with Chicago back in January.

Toure, 27, is a former seventh round pick by the Packers back in 2022. He appeared in 22 games with Green Bay, where he totaled 13 receptions for 160 yards and one touchdown from 2022-23. Toure never saw regular-season action with the Bears.
