The Green Bay Packers have a pretty good history with undrafted cornerbacks. Tramon Williams and Sam Shields both became No. 1 cornerbacks. Both were undrafted. However, both of those guys were given a chance to play. That hasn’t really happened with Josh Hawkins, another undrafted cornerback the Packers have kept around the past two seasons.
Hawkins is fast as hell. He ran a 4.39 40 coming out of East Carolina.
He earned a roster spot each of the past two seasons with solid play during the preseason. As a rookie, he hardly played and after getting burned by Detroit’s Marvin Jones for a long touchdown early in the season, clearly went into coach Mike McCarthy’s doghouse.
