With the sports world on hold, we present a countdown of the 50 greatest moments in Wisconsin sports history over the past 50 years. This is No. 42.

It's fitting that our first introduction to one of the greatest Green Bay Packers players came in a place called the green room.

Aaron Rodgers, the junior quarterback from the University of California, had tumbled dramatically in the 2005 NFL draft. The native of Chico in Northern California had been a candidate for the No. 1 overall selection, an asset held by Rodgers' childhood rooting interest, the San Francisco 49ers.
