49ers to shut down facility after positive COVID-19 test

The 49ers have closed their facility a day before they’re scheduled to host the Packers due to a positive COVID-19 test. News of the test broke this morning, only hours after the Packers got word that they’ve been cleared to proceed with Thursday’s game.

It’s not clear yet how this could affect the Week 9 matchup, but a postponement is presumably on the table. The game could be pushed to Sunday or Monday to give both teams the opportunity to sort out their rosters a bit, though NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero says for right now, the game is still expected to be played on schedule.
