A former member of the Green Bay Packers is landing in San Francisco with the 49ers. According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the 49ers are signing former Packers receiver Devin Funchess to the team’s practice squad.
Funchess was in San Francisco for a tryout on Tuesday, per the league’s transaction wire.
The Packers signed Funchess to a one-year deal in 2020, but the veteran receiver opted out of the season over concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic. He returned this past offseason and participated during training camp with the Packers, but he suffered a hamstring injury and was placed on injured reserve on Aug.
