Packers Rally To Beat Lions 27-23 On Thursday Night Football

Down 20-0 in the third quarter, Aaron Rodgers found a way to rally the Green Bay Packers for a 27-23 victory over the Detroit Lions on Thursday Night Football. The Packers are now 8-4 with the win and in good position to win the NFC North. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Lions, who are now 4-6.

With 23 seconds left, no timeouts and at their own 20, Rodgers completed a Hail Mary to win the game. He found TE Richard Rodgers for a 61-yard TD. The Packers were given a chance to complete the play thanks to a facemask call against the Lions with no time left. You can check out the play here

The Green Bay offensive line was plagued by injuries before and during the game and it impacted both Rodgers and the running game. Rodgers was sacked three times and pressured on many of his throws. He completed 23 of 35 passes for just 270 yards, two TDs and a pick.

TE Richard Rodgers had one of his better games in his NFL career. He caught eight passes for 162 yards and the game-winning score.

RB Eddie Lacy was a complete non-factor for the Packers. He had five carries for just four yards and didn't play much in the first half because of his poor play. The Packers as a team had just 67 yards on 24 carries. Rodgers was responsible for a big portion of those yards. He had a team-high 27 yards and a TD on the ground.

Matt Stafford was sharp for the Lions. He completed 23 of 35 passes for 220 yards and two TDs. His favorite target was Golden Tate, who had eight catches for 63 yards. He had a critical third down conversion late in the fourth quarter that all but sealed a Lions' win.

The Lions, who were tied for last in the NFL in rushing, had a solid game on the ground. The team ran for 104 yards on 23 carries.

The Packers will try to add a second straight win against a Dallas Cowboys team that is without QB Tony Romo next. The Lions look to bounce back on the road against the St. Louis Rams.
